The Lens Pod

Aug 5, 2021 | 2 min

The Lens Pod is a medical student-run podcast designed to help medical trainees navigate the field of ophthalmology. Further, the podcast seeks to provide mentorship and advice to students may have missed during the COVID-19 pandemic. We felt that a podcast would be the perfect medium to help students in this regard and provide applicable advice and knowledge. In our episodes, we interview residents, fellows and staff ophthalmologists at major centers in Canada and the USA to help students along their journey as a trainee. Episode highlights include Clinic and OR Dos and Don’ts, Neuro-ophthalmology, Trauma, Retina, Glaucoma and more!

Target Audience

Our content is targeted towards medical students and early residents. It will hopefully serve them well throughout their medical education. Other members of the eye-care team are also likely to find the information we present helpful in day-to-day practice.

In our latest episode, we delve into comprehensive ophthalmology with Dr. Thomas Oetting from the University of Iowa. Dr. Oetting was a fantastic guest, and from this episode, we hope our listeners will be able to:
